IT’S TIME FOR BLOGMAS!

Now if you’ve followed me on Instagram for a while, you’ll know that I’m starting my 2018 Bullet Journal in a brand spanking new notebook. The one I’ll be using is the Creoly Th[ink] Hardbound Dotted Notebook in the colour red (image below)! This was very kindly sent to me by Creoly for a review, and I absolutely fell in love!

In fact, I love it so much, I reached out to them and got you a discount code (which I make NO money off of, by the way, it’s not an affiliate code)! Go to www.creoly.com , add the Th[ink] Hardbound Dotted Notebook to your cart, and enter the code ‘ DOT20 ’ at checkout for 20% off the notebook! That’s an amazing deal!

Basic Bullet Journal Information + Set-Up

If you are completely brand new to the Bullet Journal system, here’s a quick intro. The Bullet Journal was created by Ryder Carroll, as an ‘analogue system for the digital age’ (his words, not mine!). Frankly, no words can explain the idea of the Bullet Journal better than Ryder’s original four-minute long video, which you can watch below:

Now with a basic Bullet Journal as a guide, there are tons of different ways you can customize your Bullet Journal to fit your style and work perfectly. That’s the beauty of it! It’s literally entirely made by you, for you!

Ideas For Getting Started With Your Bullet Journal

Here are some brilliant ideas for the first few spreads and layouts you can add to your first (or second or millionth) Bullet Journal!

Customizing Spreads For Specific Needs

Apart from the basic yearly, monthly and weekly pages, some of the most common spreads are the health and habit trackers, collections (of books to read, movies to watch etc), year at a glance, goals pages…honestly, the list of possible pages is endless! Some amazing creative geniuses have come up with great ideas that cater to almost every interest ever, and here’s but a small selection of these brilliant brainwaves:

Of course, there are thousands of other interesting spread ideas, and I can almost guarantee that if you want inspiration for a particular hobby or theme, someone out there has made it!

Art, Lettering And Other Tutorials

Most people in the Bullet Journal community are incredibly talented creatives, who add their beautiful drawings, doodles and hand lettering to their daily planning. I particularly enjoy playing around with colours and art in my own journal, and it is honestly the most therapeutic thing in the world!

But if you don’t feel confident in your drawing or lettering skills quite yet, here’s a list of written and video tutorials to get you there!

Ideas For A Digital Bullet Journal

If carrying a notebook and a pen around isn’t a feasible option for you, there are tons of digital means you can use to Bullet Journal with! Here’s a list of some great ideas:

Printable Resources For Your Bullet Journal

Alrighty we’re at the final list now, and this is my personal favourite part. Let’s talk about some awesome printables that you can add to your own Bullet Journal! Not only can printables be added to an existing notebook, but you can also totally create an entire notebook out of only printables – this is kind of how Travelers’ Notebooks work.

Here are some awesome FREE Printable resources:

And, of course there are my own free printables that go out with my newsletter each month! (Nice plug, eh?) Sign up below to grab your copy of this month’s printables!
